Subject : Guidelines for Fast Rescue Boat Training course

Maritime Safety and efficiency is of utmost concern to the Directorate General of shipping, the constituted authority of the Government of India for all maritime affairs

Accordingly, the Directorate has introduced a new course viz. Fast Rescue Boat Training course. This course aims to provide the training for candidates to launch and take charge of a fast rescue boat, in accordance with section A-VI/2 of the STCW Code and IMO Model Course 1.24.

The guidelines for Fast Rescue Boat Training course are finalized hereunder. In keeping with the Government policy, the guidelines have been made in as transparent a manner as practicable. It is expected that training institutes would follow these guidelines in letter and spirit.

The processing fee for the said course is fixed as Rs. 15,000/- which is required to be paid alongwith the proposal for the approval of the course.

The above guidelines shall come into force w.e.f. the date of issue of this guideline.

This issues with the approval of the Director General of Shipping and ex-officio Addl. Secretary to the Government of India.
