G.S.R 715 The following draft of certain rules further to amend the Life-boatmen’s (Qualifications and Certificates) Rules, 1963,which the Central Government proposes to make in exercise of the powers conferred by clause (h) of sub-section (2) of section 288 and section 344 of the Merchant Shipping Act, 1958 (44 of 1958) is hereby published as required by sub-section (1) of section 344 of the said Act for information of all persons likely to be affected thereby and notice id hereby given that the said draft will be taken into consideration on or after the expiry of 60 days from the date of publication of this notification in the Official Gazette.
Any objections or suggestions which may be received. From any person with respect to the said draft before the expiry of the period so specified will be taken into consideration by the Central Government.
Draft Rules
1. These rules may be called the Life-boatmen’s (Qualifications and Certificates) Amendment Rules, 1973.
2. In the Life-boatmen’s (Qualifications and Certificates) Rules, 1963.
(1) in rule 6 the words “an examination fee of rupees five only and” shall be omitted ;
(2) in sub-rule (1) of rule 7, the sentence “Every such application shall also be accompanied by an examination fee of rupees five only required by rule 6” shall be omitted;
(3) rule 7A shall be omitted.
