NOTIFICATION 
New Delhi, the 10th November, 1995

S.O. 913(E)—In exercise of the powers conferred by clause (4) of rule 2 of the Merchant Shipping (Load Line) Rule 1979, (hereinafter referred to as the said rules), the Central Government hereby appoints for a further period of two years with effect from 12th November, 1995, the classification societies specified in column 2 of the Schedule annexed hereto, as assigning authorities for the purpose of the said rules, in respect of ships specified in the corresponding entry in column 3 of the said Schedule to act within the limits specified therein: 

            Provided that the Central Government may, by order, published in the Official Gazette, curtail the period of appointment of any such classification society, for any period less than the said period of two years if, having regard to the performance of such classification society and the need for its continuous services, that Government is satisfied that the terms of appointment of such classification society should be so curtailed.
